Our Service Area

CI's service area population is 547,535 with 56.46% below the poverty level. The statistical breakdown of the service area population is as follows: 54% Black/African American; 0.14% Native American/Native Alaskan; 0.34% Native Hawaiian/Other Pacific Islander and 1.35% Hispanic/Latino. Hispanics/Latinos are the fastest going sub-population in the State of Mississippi, particularly the Mississippi Delta Region of the state.

Clinical Services Division
Case Management Link clients and patients with emotional and social support, financial assistance and legal assistance, etc.
HIV Counseling, Testing, Referral Provide confidential pre-test counseling, testing, and post-test counseling; and referral to internal primary care for treatment, care and services.
Immunization Clinic Provide education and information to parents concerning their families' immunization needs. Administer vaccine according to Mississippi Department of Health (MDH) guidelines to individuals of all ages for protection against vaccine preventable diseases. Fees based-on sliding scale.
STI Clinic Provide screening and treatment for sexuality-transmitted diseases (i.e., gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis). Visits are confidential and there is minimal to no charge.
TB Clinic Screening for TB, follow-up of active cases and contact investigation (MDE). Administer and interpret skin test and provide consultation regarding results to people of all ages. Provide for treatment of TB infection and disease.
Teen Clinic (ages 13-24 and their partners) 1) walk-in & scheduled appointments, 2) family planning services and education, 3) sexuality transmitted disease detection, screening, treatment and education, 4) HIV testing and counseling (FREE), 5) health education information and linkages (FREE), 6) gynecological check-ups, including pap smears, 7) update immunizations as appropriateLiving Assistance Division

PROGRAMS
AIDS Integrated Information Network (AIIN) is to enhance technology in rural underserved communities of color; increase access to HIV/AIDS and related-health disparities information and resources into non-traditional settings within the Mississippi Delta Region. It serves as an extension for the Health and Education resources within the State of Mississippi for at risk groups within the states most underserved region.
This project is designed to make readily available access to culturally and age appropriate HIV/AIDS data and information to the community-at-large via integrated connective network of agencies and organizations beyond educational institutions and public libraries after business hours. The primary focus of this outreach project is to improve information access for HIV/AIDS information to patients, the affected community, their caregivers as well as the general public. Implementation of this goal may, include providing access to electronic resources, training in the use of these resources, expanding collections, Internet connections, development of locally specific information materials, and opening access to collections, a document delivery services.
